We’ve decided to have a Gratnells Team bike riding challenge and raise money for charity at the same time. On the third of July this year Team Gratnells will be donning our custom fancy cycling jerseys and attempting to cycle from London to Cambridge. I’ve been cajoled into joining the team of eight despite not being a long distance cyclist – or any kind of cyclist for that matter! So I have from now until July to get to peak fitness.
We’re doing this cycle to raise much needed money for Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity which is dedicated to funding research into this devastating disease. They believe that if we all act now, by 2050 everyone who develops breast cancer will live.
Please donate to our team effort – we’ll be putting our sweat and probably tears into this event. Every little helps – you can donate with this button below. Thank you
Gratnells is delighted to launch a new charging solution for schools and offices. The PowerTray is a standard Gratnells Deep or Extra Deep tray but with an electronic component that will store, charge and sync up to ten usb devices at a time using DDR (Dynamic Device Recognition)
The PowerTray comes in two heights – Deep and Extra Deep and both come as charge only or charge and sync variations. We have designed a trolley to hold the PowerTrays – the PowerTrolley comes in a range of colours and is lockable to securely store either two Extra Deep or three Deep PowerTrays. For more information and a guide to recommended retail pricing see this pdf.
Today we decided to see if you could build a reasonable Christmas tree out of Gratnells trays. After a few failed starts and enlisting the help of our resident consulting engineer we managed to build something resembling a tree from green Jumbo F3 trays. With some tinsel and baubles you’d hardly know it wasn’t plucked from a forest! Now it has pride of place outside our Director’s box in the factory. Pictures show me and Marketing Director Richard Picking next to the tree and Marketing Coordinator Emily adding some final touches.
We’re going to be exhibiting at the leading Education Technology show – BETT – this week. If you’re going to the show be sure to drop by our stand (A470) and see our latest new offerings including a compact charging solution for schools. If you aren’t going to the show watch this space for further details over the next few weeks.
You can find more information about the BETT show here
The lucky winner of our prize draw for a Kindle Fire at Worlddidac Basel is Valeriy Lebedev CEO of Base Store, Kazakhstan. Congratulations Valeriy and we hope you enjoy your prize.
Pictured here is Valeriy’s daughter Alina Lebedeva with her father’s prize.
Regular readers of this blog will know that very little gets us as excited as seeing our trays on the TV. We were thrilled to spot some grey trays in this week’s opening episode of ITV’s Broadchurch season 2. In the scene where DI Alec Hardy (David Tennant) goes into the courtroom he passes through a security check where he puts his Blackberry into a grey deep tray at the scanner in the fictional Wessex County Court.
Broadchurch is ITV’s award winning crime thriller set in the picturesque seaside town of Broadchurch, featuring DI Alec Hardy and DS Ellie Miller. You can read more and catch up with the latest episode here.
I was delighted to see this picture of a Gratnells F1 Shallow Tray being put to good use at one of our customer’s Christmas Party. LeXsolar in Dresden who supply renewable energy experiment sets were happy to use a tray to serve up their party food. Always nice to see a bit of lateral thinking!
This year’s Gratnells Christmas card has our office team rendered beautiful through the medium of cartoon. I wish you all a very Happy Christmas and best wishes for a successful year in 2015.
Our office is closed from 24th December through to Monday 5th January.
It’s like giving birth to an elephant. Worlddidac Basle is a large, unwieldy, expensive, foreign, logistical nightmare but at least it is only biannual. The show this year saw Gratnells with one of the largest stands in the hall and we certainly got everyone’s attention. We wanted to show off our new Callero range and SmartCase which went down extremely well. Some customers had already started packing kits in the Smartcase, so thank you to Sumit Jain at Eisco.
Winner of the most interesting product had to go to LeXsolar with their electric go-kart. Ronnie from the German kit company was seen whizzing round the hall after hours with a big grin on his face. He may have the pace but can he beat my 14 year old son? Challenge for Worlddidac 2016?
So this week we are dashing round with final preparations for our stand at the Worlddidac Education Trade exhibition in Basel next week. Stand designs have been signed off, products have been shipped, brochures have gone to the printers and most importantly the tea and coffee machines have been safely packed away with the rest of the materials being shipped to Basel in Swizerland.
We are very excited to be showcasing our two most significant launches of the last decade: the SmartCase and the new Callero range. SmartCase has just been launched and Callero units will be available in 2015.
Don’t forget if you visit our stand you could be the lucky winner of a Kindle Paperwhite. The show runs in Basel, Swizerland from October 29 to 31 So please join me on the Gratnells stands D100 and D105. I look forward to seeing you there.
You can read more about our show plans here.
If you will not be attending the Worlddidac show but would like the latest information on our new launches you can see the new Callero and SmartCase brochures on the trade section of our website.
